Hi Everyone! First blog post in a while. That's because I'm excited to announce that first time ever, I'm organizing a print portfolio exchange, and this is the official call for entry!
This is a portfolio exchange of Ex Libris prints, also known as bookplates - small works of art that book collectors would commission to denote ownership of their books! (ex libris is latin for "from the library of..."). That takes care of the genre of print, but thematically we are dealing with censorship in the arts and banned books! Should be good! If you are interested in participating in this print portfolio exchange, go over to my entry page to get the official rules and details and sign up!
Printing stone lithographs at Vicious Dog Press at Metropolitan State University of Denver. This footage is from March or April I believe, when I was working on "The Glass Armor". This time lapse shows about 20 minutes worth of work in about a minute.
Time lapse from earlier this year, getting started with graining a litho stone. This is the process of grinding an image off of the stone and resurfacing it so it can be used for a new image. This time lapse shows the first 20 minutes of work in about a minute and a half; in reality, I spent 8 hours graining this stone, to remove the image and to level out wedges and dips in the stone. This was done at Vicious Dog Press at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
